Sharjah City Municipality organized a campaign to monitor and remove random and unauthorized billboards in a number of residential and industrial areas in the city, as part of its continuous efforts to eliminate distortions of the public appearance and preserve the aesthetic and civilized face of the smiling emirate.

Director General of Sharjah Municipality Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji explained that the campaign recently launched by the municipality lasted for three weeks and covered the areas of Al Saja'a, Al Suyoh and Al Rahmaniya, and comes as a continuation of the inspection and control campaigns that the municipality is keen to organize to reduce distortions and negative practices in the city of Sharjah, thus enhancing its position as an attractive city For residents, tourists and investors.

He stressed that the municipality continues to organize and intensify its inspection and control campaigns throughout the year to preserve the city's aesthetic appearance, and to educate individuals and institutions about the laws and regulations in force in this regard.

For his part, the Director of the Institutional Communication Department in the municipality, Ali Obaid Al-Hamoudi, confirmed that the inspection teams participating in the campaign monitored and removed about 50 billboards that varied between random billboards on the roadside, and unauthorized billboards, in addition to billboards distorting the public view of all kinds. Pointing out that the boards that were counted and removed do not only belong to advertising companies or shops located in the targeted areas, but many of them belong to individuals and companies with various activities and small projects that no longer exist in those areas.
