The Israeli Foreign Intelligence Service (Mossad) announced the appointment of 4 women to the Mossad's high command, including a woman, as head of the "Iran" bureau.

The Mossad said - in a written statement today, Thursday, that the Anatolia Agency received a copy of it - that this is the first time in the history of the Mossad that a woman has been appointed to a high position, which is the office of "Iran".

The statement also indicated that another woman had also been appointed as the head of the "intelligence authority (information gathering and analysis)".

The Mossad did not publish the names of the two officials, only referring to them by the first letter of their names, and said that the newly appointed "K" occupies the position of head of the Iran office, "the main concern of the organization."

He pointed out that "the head of the Iran office is responsible for the Mossad's strategy in dealing with all aspects of the Iranian threat, and for leading the integration of operations, technology and intelligence in the organization with the Israeli army and all security services."

He said that "(K) - who is also a veteran intelligence officer - currently occupies one of the highest, most important and influential positions in the organization."

Israel has previously admitted to carrying out operations inside Iran, with the pretext of preventing Iran's nuclear program.

As for the second woman, he said that "A" took the position of director of the Intelligence Authority, and she is also the first woman in the history of the Mossad to hold this position.

The statement added that "(A) I served in the Mossad, at the heart of its intelligence operations, for nearly 20 years."

The Mossad indicated - in the same statement - that the Director of the Intelligence Authority is responsible for shaping the national strategic intelligence picture on a variety of issues, including the Iranian nuclear program, global terrorism, and normalization with the Arab world, and is also responsible for intelligence information related to all Mossad operations, It manages hundreds of employees in intelligence gathering, research and analysis.

He also pointed out that the deputy (A) is also a woman, symbolized by the letter (E).

In this regard, Mossad Director David Barnea said - according to the same statement - "Many women work in all roles in operations, agents and operators of agents, and are integrated into the core of operations and intelligence."

He added, "Two additional women were appointed to the position of deputy director of the branch, as (H) was appointed deputy chief of the intelligence service and (R) deputy chief of human resources, and therefore 4 women are currently working in the Mossad's high command."

The Mossad indicated that the highest position held by a woman in the service was about 30 years ago, when Elisa Magen held the position of deputy director of the agency.

The Mossad is specialized in operating outside the borders of Palestine and the occupied Palestinian territories.
