Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin responded to a leaked video of her dancing and partying yesterday, defending her right to enjoy her free time.

"These are private photos that were not intended to be released to the public," Marin, 36, told the Finnish newspaper, "The Thaleti," expressing her disappointment at the leakage of the photos.

Meanwhile, she added, "I have nothing to hide and have done nothing illegal."

While she was drinking alcohol during the party, she said she was not taking drugs.

Marin participated in a party with some of her celebrity friends in a private house before visiting two bars.

She emphasized that she had the right to enjoy her free time in the same way that others of her age did, and told Radio "Olesradio" that she hoped people would accept that, since "we live in a democracy."

Marin has drawn attention in the past for attending rock festivals and nightclub parties.

While many young people in Finland are proud of their prime minister's rebellious side, the video has also drawn criticism from people who consider her behavior inappropriate.
