It is noted that Russian diplomats continue to closely monitor the fate of Vinnik.
The embassy called the protection of the rights and interests of Russians held in American prisons a priority task for the diplomatic mission.
On August 5, the United States authorities notified Russian diplomats of the arrest of Russian Alexander Vinnik.
The next day, the US Department of Justice announced that Vinnik had appeared before an American court for the first time.
Vinnik pleaded not guilty during a hearing in the Northern District of California.
