From August 1, 2022, in 9 provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Delta, Fujian-Jiangxi, Sichuan-Chongqing-Guizhou three areas, the "inter-provincial handling" of applying for a resident ID card for the first time in the region will be fully launched.
From October 1, 2022, pilot work will be gradually launched in other provinces and cities across the country. Before the end of the year, people in the pilot areas will be able to apply for a resident ID card for the first time without returning to the place of residence, and can apply at the nearest place of residence.
