China News Service, Beijing, August 17 (Reporter Chen Su) The reporter learned from the China Meteorological Administration on the 17th that according to the recent monitoring and evaluation of the National Climate Center, taking into account the average intensity, scope and duration of high temperature and heat wave events, from June this year. Since the beginning of the 13th, the comprehensive intensity of regional high temperature events in China has reached the strongest level since complete meteorological observation records began in 1961.

According to the National Climate Center, this process has the characteristics of long duration, wide range, high intensity and strong extreme.

As of August 15, this high temperature event has lasted for 64 days, the longest duration since 1961, covering 1680 stations above 35℃ and 1426 stations above 37℃, both of which are the second most in history, and the coverage area above 40℃ the largest in history.

The number of high-temperature extreme stations was 262, exceeding those in 2013 (187 stations) and 2017 (133 stations).

Since the summer (June 1 to August 15, the same below), the average number of high temperature days in China is 12.0 days, 5.1 days more than the same period in normal years, the most in the same period in history since complete meteorological observation records began in 1961.

The high temperature days in southern North China, most of East China, Central China, eastern South China, northeastern Southwest China, most of Xinjiang, and western Inner Mongolia are generally more than 20 days. Central and eastern Xinjiang, northwestern Inner Mongolia, southern Henan, most of Hubei, Anhui, Southern Jiangsu, Zhejiang, central and northern Fujian, most of Jiangxi, most of Hunan, eastern Sichuan, Chongqing and other places for more than 30 days.

Since summer, the 10 provinces (autonomous regions and regions) of Henan, Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Hubei, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Shaanxi and New Zealand have recorded the highest number of high temperature days since 1961. Yu is the third most.

A total of 914 national meteorological stations across the country (accounting for 37.7% of the total number of stations in the country) reached the daily maximum temperature of extreme high temperature events, and 262 national meteorological stations in Hebei, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Hubei, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Qinghai and other places had the highest daily temperature The temperature remained the same or exceeded the historical extreme, among which Zhushan in Hubei (44.6℃), Beibei in Chongqing (44.5℃), Fengjie (44.4℃), Wuxi (44.0℃), Lingshou in Hebei (44.2℃), Gaocheng (44.1℃) , Zhengding (44.0℃), and the daily maximum temperature of Yanjin (44.0℃) in Yunnan reaches 44℃ and above.

According to the forecast of the Central Meteorological Observatory, in the next 10 days (August 17-26), there will still be persistent high temperature weather in Sichuan Basin, Jianghan, Jianghuai, Jiangnan and other places, and the cumulative number of high temperature days can reach 7 to 10 days. 35 ~ 38 ℃, local can exceed 40 ℃.

According to comprehensive research and judgment, the duration of this regional high temperature and heat wave event in China will continue to be prolonged, and the comprehensive intensity will be further enhanced.
