The American magazine "National Interest" published an article by American academic researcher Michael Rabin in which he believes that the support of Israeli political leaders, diplomats and businessmen for regimes engaged in genocide is disgusting, and indicates a political short-sightedness that Israel will pay a heavy price in the long run.

Foreign officials who visit Israel often visit the Israeli Holocaust memorial and museum, said Rabin, senior researcher at the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research.

Despite this - and speaking to the writer - the leaders of Israel, driven by commercial greed and the policy of the fait accompli, put Israel in the face of its natural and moral allies, to be a partner to regimes that practice genocide instead of standing with those who are exposed to, survivors of, or exposed to, genocide.

military cooperation

Rabin criticized the Israeli partnership with China, describing it as "the most problematic partnership for Israel."

He said that the Israeli military trade exchange with China is only the tip of the iceberg, as the most important trade exchange is the cooperation of the Israeli technology sector with China.

He pointed out that Chinese government companies have invested heavily in companies specializing in sensitive technologies in Israel, driven by an easier investment climate and less obstacles than what China might face in other Western countries, especially with regard to electronic activities.

He said that Israel's leaders could have pretended to be unaware of the genocide perpetrated by the Chinese communist authorities against Uyghur Muslims a decade ago, but they cannot claim that now that the genocide against the Uyghurs amounts to the most organized and systematic campaign of ethnic cleansing since the Holocaust itself.

The writer also criticized Israel's cooperation with other governments, including the Ethiopian government, in its military campaign against the Tigray region, and said that Israel provided the Ethiopian army with military drones and other heavy military vehicles.

He pointed out that Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has been waging a military campaign against the Tigray region in northern Ethiopia for more than a year, although he had promised a quick war, and the Tigray Defense Forces had succeeded in confronting the Ethiopian army's attack.

Therefore, Abi Ahmed's war on the region turned into a campaign of genocide accompanied by arrests and mass starvation.

The writer explained that there is no strategic reason for Israel to cooperate with Ethiopia, and that Tel Aviv has provided Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed with these weapons despite realizing that he will use them against the minority in the Tigray region.

He said that what the Israeli leaders are doing is not a wise de facto policy, as Abi Ahmed will not continue to rule Ethiopia forever, and the memories of what happened will remain stuck in the minds of the residents of Tigray region - and other victims of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia - for a long time.
