Kuwait approves voting in the elections with a civil ID

Kuwaiti Minister of Justice Jamal Al-Jalawi announced today, Wednesday, the Cabinet's approval of a draft law "necessity" to vote by civil ID.

Al-Jalawi added, in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) and (Kuwait TV) after the cabinet meeting at Seif Palace that the Cabinet also approved a draft law "necessity" to add some new areas to four existing electoral districts, according to the geographical location and their subordination to the governorate. .

Al-Jalawi pointed out that the two draft decrees, one of them is a draft decree law “necessity” to amend some provisions of Law No. 35 of 1962 regarding elections for members of the National Assembly, and the other is a draft decree law “necessity” to amend the attached schedule to Law No. 42 of 2006 to include regions in existing electoral districts.

In this regard, he stressed the keenness of the supreme political leadership to ensure that the upcoming elections are free of any impurities or legal violations, and that each constituency expresses the will of its voters in a correct manner.

He explained that the lists issued by the Public Authority for Civil Information will be used to vote so that they are compatible with the true and correct domicile of each voter in his electoral district.

He indicated that the voters will vote according to the usual procedures in light of the electoral statements submitted by the General Authority for Civil Information and approved by the Department of Elections at the Ministry of Interior, expressing his wishes that the upcoming electoral process will proceed smoothly.
