Torrential rains and violent thunderstorms fell in some French departments, especially in the south on Tuesday evening.

In La Londe-les-Maures, in the Var, a winemaker explains on Europe 1 that she has lost her 150 hectares of vines.

Other incidents have also been noted, while vigilance has not been lifted.

A very violent stormy corridor formed by the sea, near Toulon on Tuesday evening, and hailstones sometimes as big as golf balls swept away everything in their path.

While Météo France extended its orange vigilance to 13 departments this Wednesday, operators were impacted in the south of France.

In the town of La Londe-les-Maures, in the Var, more than 150 hectares of vines went up in smoke.

"100% of the plots are affected", explains Julie, the director of the Bormettes estate, who has lost everything.

"It's the sky falling on our heads, literally," she says at the microphone of Europe 1.

Injuries at a campsite in Corrèze

"It's all the work of a year that falls into the water", laments the director of the estate, who details the damage caused by these bad weather: "It splits the grains in two, it's a bit like the lightning. And given the size of the hailstones, it was quite violent. It's really the worst scenario that could happen."

In addition to this agricultural damage in the Var, there were injuries in Corrèze.

In the Collonges-La-Rouge campsite, near Tulle, an oak tree fell on a caravan and three tents.

A sexagenarian was transported overnight in absolute urgency.

If this Wednesday afternoon, a general lull made it possible to repair some damage, but these bad weather still threaten.

In the Hérault for example, towns like Montarnaud or Puchabon recorded almost 100 mm of rain, and other heavy showers could cause flooding.
