Now the Inspectorate for Care and Care (Ivo) is directing harsh criticism at the care of the pregnant woman at Skåne University Hospital in Lund, reports local media.

She was sent from the hospital in her hometown of Växjö for care in Lund because of the risk of premature birth and the need for highly specialized care if the children were born prematurely.

Communication broke down

After several bleeds, the woman was moved to the maternity ward in Lund, but according to Ivo, communication broke down between the doctor in charge and the midwife.

According to Ivo, this led to the woman not receiving continuous monitoring.

When another doctor took over, an ultrasound was performed and it turned out that the fetuses were dead.

According to Ivo, the responsible doctor made several mistakes, Smålandsposten reports.

"The caregiver has failed to provide good care," writes Ivo.
