Stefan Svensson has been a municipal politician in Alingsås for 14 years, today he works with regional politics.

Right now you can see trams wallpapered with him and KD's party leader Ebba Busch as he is now the top candidate in the Västra Götaland region.

- The biggest difference is the number of zeros in the budget - in Alingsås it was about two billion to be responsible for, in the region just over 60, he says.

Want to abolish the regions

The Christian Democrats' policy for healthcare is to divide the country into six large regions instead of today's 21 regions.

Care must be planned from there and in this way it is hoped to get a larger tax base to become more efficient.

The party also wants to shorten today's care guarantee from today's maximum of 90 days while waiting for surgery to 30 days and introduce a health consultation from the age of 40 – something it has in common with the Green Party.

Involuntary loneliness must be prevented

The Christian Democrats devote an entire section of their regional political program to involuntary loneliness.

It says that the party wants to increase civil society's efforts in the area.

The Christian Democrats are the region's sixth largest party with 11 out of 149 seats in the regional council.

The party governs the region together with the Green Party, the Moderates, the Center Party and the Liberals.

- I think it has worked very well and would like to continue like this after the election.
