“The RUTUBE iOS app can now only be downloaded in Russia,” the statement said.
The company noted that the decision is due to the fact that Russian-speaking users of the service have the opportunity to download the RUTUBE application on the iPhone.
The company also emphasized that Russian-speaking users located in other countries can still watch the content offered by the service in the web version.
Previously, Apple required RUTUBE to hide the content of Russian state media in the iOS application or make the application available only to Russian users.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned Apple's demand.
