The Russian President's special envoy to Afghanistan, Damir Kabulov, said that the Taliban had ensured that it would do everything possible to prevent the transfer of "fighters of terrorist organizations", including ISIS, to Ukraine.

In response to a journalist's question about whether Russia is in contact with the Taliban after reports that a third country is recruiting fighters in Afghanistan to send them to Ukraine, Kabulov added in an interview with "Novosti" that the Taliban "certainly will not allow this within its real capabilities. And they are not Totally hypocritical," he said.

It was not possible to obtain an immediate comment from the Taliban regarding the speech of the Russian president's envoy.

After returning to power in August 2021, the Taliban promised that Afghan territory would not be used against any country, and that it wanted to establish positive and strong relations with its neighbors and countries of the world.

Since the end of last February, Russia has launched an attack on its neighbor Ukraine, and both sides accuse each other of using allies and mercenaries in the ongoing war between them.
