Join us for crayfish fishing in the inner city: "More crayfish than we thought"

Last year, the city of Stockholm's fishing consultants did test fishing next to Riddarholmen before the cycle path at Gamla stan is to be widened.

They discovered that there were significantly more crayfish there than they had anticipated.

Max 50 crayfish per person

In order to fish for crayfish in Mälaren, a special crayfish fishing license is required and each person may fish a maximum of 50 crayfish per season.

Anyone who wants to fish for crayfish can either do so with a crayfish hoof or a crayfish cage.

- With a fishing license you can fish in a great many waters all over Mälaren, then you just have to think about the laws and regulations that apply, but all that appears when you buy the fishing license, says Oliver Karlöf, who is a fishing consultant in the city of Stockholm.
