On August 15, local time, a special court in Nay Pyi Taw Prison sentenced the former State Counsellor of Myanmar, Aung San Suu Kyi, in four corruption cases.

The court found guilty and sentenced Aung San Suu Kyi to six years in prison.

So far, Aung San Suu Kyi has been sentenced to 17 years in prison.

  Previously, Aung San Suu Kyi was sentenced to 11 years in prison for 6 counts of violating the Natural Disaster Management Law and the Import and Export Management Law and accepting bribes from the former chief minister of Yangon Province.

  At present, many cases involving Aung San Suu Kyi's illegal rental and purchase of helicopters and the leakage of state secrets are still pending.
