In less than a year, two tragic drowning accidents involving young people have occurred at the central swimming pool in Norrköpig.

The director of culture and recreation says drowning alarms are something you check.

It was last Sunday that a four-year-old boy died after a drowning accident at Centralbadet in Norrköping.

At the beginning of the year, a similar accident occurred in the same swimming hall - when a three-year-old boy died.

Following the investigation

The director of culture and leisure in Norrköping municipality, Maria Modig, believes that the municipality will follow the investigation of the incident on Sunday closely.

- First, my thoughts go to the relatives.

We try to create a good picture of what happened and we do that together with Medley, she says.

"Can't happen again"

When it comes to the issue of drowning alarms, it is an investment the municipality will consider, she says.

- We look at drowning alarms like this.

It is very important that we look at the many different things that can be done to prevent such horrible, tragic accidents.

It must not happen again, says Maria Modig.
