15 teams from 29 famous architecture schools in 10 countries, including Tianjin University, Tsinghua University, and ETH Zurich, competed on the same field.

Team Tianjin U+ won the first place in the finals of the China International Solar Decathlon Competition (SDC).

  The China International Solar Decathlon Competition (SDC) will start in 2021 and will last for two and a half years. It will be held in Datong, Shanxi for the first time in 2013 and Dezhou, Shandong for the second time in 2018. SDC will be held in China again in 2021.

It aims to promote the development of green buildings, enhance people's awareness of environmental protection, and promote the innovative development and commercialization of related technologies through the competition.

Adhering to the concept of building as the carrier, with smart home as the core, and with the ideal of world citizens as the spirit, we will build the Olympic Games in the field of solar energy and green buildings.

  The competition requires each team to build a single-storey solar residence with a construction area of ​​120㎡-150㎡ with the goal of permanent use, adapt to the regional context, and evaluate the final results through ten individual items.

  The first place in the sub-competition of energy efficiency, engineering construction, interactive experience, indoor environment, publicity and promotion, architectural design, clean heating/cooling, and energy self-sufficiency, and the second place in the sub-competition of market potential of this competition were respectively awarded by Tianjin University United Team (TeamTianjinU+) in the bag.

According to reports, Tianjin University United Team (TeamTianjinU+) brings together more than 50 undergraduate, master and doctoral students, more than 20 teachers and expert consultants from 2 countries and 3 colleges and universities. It is an industry-university-research joint team composed of many internal institutions and disciplines such as Automation, APEC Sustainable Energy Center, Department of Machinery, Intelligence and Computing, and International College of Engineers.

  It is reported that the International Solar Decathlon (Solar Decathlon, SD) is an international architectural technology competition for university students.

At present, there are six SD organizing committees in the United States, China, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America worldwide.
