The Ministry of Transport began developing rules for rearranging spare parts between aircraft

“The Ministry of Transport ... is already developing the relevant amendments to FAR-285.

It is expected that they can be approved in March 2023,” Izvestia reports, citing a copy of a letter from the president of the Association of Air Transport Operators (AEVT) Vladimir Tasun to the ministry and sources close to the department.

Tasun noted that such measures would be useful when the failure of one of the components is recorded on two aircraft at the same time.

In this case, it will be possible to allow the replacement of a spare part from one aircraft to another, so that at least one of them will fly in good condition.

AEVT proposes to approve such a procedure between aircraft of different airlines.

In March, it became known that the ban on the supply of foreign components led to a year or two shift in the start of mass production of the SSJ-100 and MS-21 aircraft.

The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, later said that the department does not expect a shortage of spare parts for the SSJ-100 aircraft this year.
