Ukraine has received 4 military helicopters from Latvia, a member of the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), as part of Western aid provided to Kiev by its Western allies to repel the Russian attack.

On Monday, the Latvian Ministry of Defense announced that two of the four Mi-17 helicopters and two Mi-2 helicopters had been delivered, and that some of them had been delivered disassembled to Ukraine. Developed in the former Soviet Union, it was repainted in addition to the refurbishment of one of the two Mi-17s.

Latvian Defense Minister Artis Pabriks was quoted as saying that since Ukrainian soldiers are currently conducting counterattacks, our donated helicopters will help conduct military operations and save lives.

"Western countries should not stop supporting Ukraine until it liberates all of its territory from the Russian occupying power," Pabrix added.

The Riga government reported that the value of military aid it has provided to Ukraine since the Russian attack in late February has exceeded 200 million euros, and among the weapons provided by Latvia to Ukraine were Stinger air defense missiles.
