Media champion

Most of the Egyptian media were keen to visit Muhammad Yahya in the hospital, and extensively covered the hero's health condition and the visits of public figures to him, led by church leaders and Ministry of Health officials.

Yahya said - during televised statements - that he was surprised by thick smoke coming out of the third and fourth floors of the church on Sunday morning in a western way, and that one of the church workers jumped from the fifth floor to fall dead.

Yahya explained that he and a large group of neighbors opened the door of the church and reached the third floor, and because of the thick smoke, they were unable to enter, but he took off his shirt and drowned it in water and wrapped his face with it so that he could enter, where he was surprised by an elderly man holding his foot and taking him out of the building.

After saving the old man, the young man went to the nursery part of the church to find it completely charred, and he transferred about 7 children to the ambulance, but they all died.

According to his statements, Yahya then moved to the fourth floor, and found a man named George (65 years old) between life and death, so he carried him and took him to the third floor, before he stumbled due to the firefighting water, lost consciousness and suffered a broken leg.

And about the reason for risking his life, the young Egyptian said that he was only interested in saving the lives of those inside the church, and that what he did was the duty, and if he could do more, he would have done, indicating that he is not the only Muslim who participated in saving the victims, and that most of the residents of the region participated in operations Fire and rescue.

The real face of Egypt

And social networking sites in Egypt exploded with posts praising Muhammad Yahya and his heroism in saving the victims of the church, whether they were injured or dead children.

Most of them confirmed that what Yahya did is a model for the Egyptian man who sacrifices himself without hesitation to save his brothers and neighbors, and that this is a message to attempts to divide society and differentiate between its components.

A large number of Christians praised Yahya's position, thanked him for his heroic stance, and wished a speedy recovery for those who described him as "the true face of Egypt."

Muhammad Yahya, who rushed to save those in the #Abu_Sefein_Church, his heroism does not lie in hurrying to them, but his great heroism is that when he slipped from the stairs with whoever was carrying him, he preferred to sacrifice his leg and break it than to fall and be injured.. A thousand greetings from me to you and I invite everyone to salute the hero, this proves that #Egypt has good and hope no matter what the bad guys do pic.twitter.com/d6vsKqmXTK
