This is the last straight line in Kenya before the announcement of the presidential results expected no later than tomorrow Tuesday according to the Constitution.

Sunday evening, the electoral commission crossed the threshold of 200 constituencies (out of 292) whose results were verified and validated.

After a tense weekend, marked by tussles between supporters of the two main candidates within the national center for compiling the results, calls for calm and patience are increasing

Riot police, special forces… security around the results compilation center has been further reinforced since Sunday.

Access has been increasingly controlled since, on the night of Saturday to Sunday, supporters of the two main candidates

In this context of tensions, 14 NGOs, associations and unions have united to appeal for calm and patience, while the Electoral Commission completes its work.

We call on all political candidates and their supporters to allow this process to take place constitutionally until its completion,

Transparency International also calls for restraint on social networks, where partial and partisan estimates and more generally disinformation continue to abound and sow confusion.
