Washington, according to Ritter, intends to provoke chaos in potentially dangerous parts of the European continent, such as the unrecognized Kosovo, RIA Novosti reports.
The former intelligence officer believes that the United States intends to complicate the position of Russia as much as possible, which, with serious changes in the geopolitical situation, may begin to adjust its plans.
“All this proves once again that the American authorities do not think at all about peace and stability in Europe, they are only interested in getting cheap political points,” Ritter concluded.
Earlier, Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Serbia Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko explained the US interest in the escalation of the conflict around Kosovo.
According to him, Washington is interested in the instability of Serbia because of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline that is operating and passing through the country.
According to the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharovo, the United States adheres to the concept of "from deterrence to destruction" in relation to Russia.
