Uppsala's attitude towards war refugees from Ukraine was debated in the municipal council during the spring.

The parties are united and the municipality has set up a contingency office that is ready if Sweden needs to accept many refugees.

According to the municipal number that the government has established, 139 newly arrived people must be received in 2022, which can be compared with 2016 when the corresponding figure was 616 people.

Priority question for Fi and SD

For both Fi and SD, the refugee issue is an especially important issue ahead of the election this autumn.

Fi believes that "the person who flees has no choice" and SD believes that "the costs of refugee reception are somewhat underestimated enormously."
