Léo Bergère, Emma Lombardi, Dorian Coninx and Cassandre Beaugrand beat Germany by 33 seconds and Switzerland by 49 seconds.

After Emma Lombardi's bronze on Friday and the three men's medals on Saturday (Léo Bergère ahead of Pierre Le Corre and Dorian Coninx), the triathletes of the French team have definitely left their mark on these European Championships, without the captain Vincent Luis, stayed at home.

With three individual medalists in their ranks, the Blues were big favorites for Sunday's explosive event (four 300m swimming relays, 7.2 km cycling and 1.6 km on foot), and n did not fail, winning the European title after the world title in June, and a year after the Olympic bronze in Tokyo.

Under a bright sun and in the atmosphere of a fair at the Munich Olympic Park, Léo Bergère launched the Blues passing the baton in 3rd position to the young Emma Lombardi (20 years old), who orbited the competition during her cycling relay, before letting Dorian Coninx then Cassandre Beaugrand manage the gap.

"During the warm-up I was completely destroyed, I had to wake up well, I was very tired from yesterday's race, I tried to settle the group quickly on the bike, but unfortunately I left a gap on the head", commented Bergere.

"It was comfortable to leave with a lead but it was also stressful, it's difficult to be chased, said Beaugrand. On my own, I was able to accentuate my strengths (swimming, running) (...) it's a new medal in the relay, each time we see that we can change the team while continuing to hope for the same result because we are all quite complete".
