“Iranian state structures, in particular, have called for violence against Rushdie for generations, and state-affiliated media have gloated over the attempt on his life.

He added that the United States and partners will counter these threats using all available means.
Earlier it was reported that an unknown person attacked British writer Salman Rushdie in New York.
Rushdie was stabbed in the neck and airlifted to a local hospital.
The attacker has already been arrested.
