China News Service, August 14. According to Egyptian media "Al-Ahram", the Associated Press and other foreign media reports, on the morning of the 14th local time, a church in Cairo, Egypt was on fire during a ceremony, causing at least 41 people. People were killed and 14 injured.

  A spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry of Health said 30 ambulances were dispatched to the scene and all the injured had been transferred to hospitals for treatment.

All hospitals in Cairo and Giza governorates are currently under a state of emergency.

  After receiving the alarm, the local civil defense force rushed to the scene to put out the fire.

  The cause of the fire is not yet known, but police said preliminary investigations indicated it may have been caused by an electrical short circuit.

Egyptian prosecutors have ordered a report on the cause of the fire.

  The Egyptian president posted on social media that he would closely monitor the situation and instruct relevant authorities to take all necessary measures to deal with the disaster.
