“In connection with the explosion that occurred today in the Surmalu shopping center ... a criminal case was initiated under articles on violation of the rules for storing flammable substances, which negligently caused the death of a person, and on violation of fire safety rules, which negligently caused the death of a person,” he pointed out.
According to him, an investigative group has been created, and measures are being taken to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
Earlier it was reported about 60 injured and three dead as a result of an explosion in a market in Yerevan.
As the head of the press service of Yerevan Municipality Levon Sardaryan stated, search and rescue operations at the site of the explosion at the Surmalu market are proceeding slowly, as there may be living people under the rubble.
