Darchiev added that obtaining a US visa requires incredible efforts, including travel outside of Russia.

“The refusal to issue visas in Moscow under the pretext of a shortage of personnel is a purely domestic American decision,” the diplomat said.

Earlier, United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs Julie Stafft said that Washington has no restrictions on issuing permits to enter the country for Russians, Russian citizens can apply for a visa at American diplomatic missions around the world.
