Taiwan's Foreign Ministry thanks the United States for its support during the aggravation of the situation in the region

The ministry commented on US criticism of Beijing for the measures taken against the island.

“The Foreign Ministry expresses its sincere gratitude to the US government for its strong support, repeated expressions of solidarity with democratic Taiwan, and concrete actions to ensure security in the Taiwan Strait and peace in the region at a time of aggravation of the situation in the Taiwan Strait,” TASS quoted the Foreign Ministry as saying.

Earlier, Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui thanked Moscow for the support rendered after the visit of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan.
