“Europe is succumbing to record summer heat and drought that has parched the continent and left forests as dry as matches,” the statement said.
It is noted that France was forced to call for help from rescuers from all over the European Union to fight huge forest fires in the south of the country.
Earlier it was reported that Belgium faced the worst drought since 1885, in July the kingdom received less than 8% of the monthly rainfall.
