Tragedy in Verges (Girona).
A 56-year-old resident of the town was arrested for seriously injuring another man with a machete in the neck after an argument.
Hours later, the victim died in the Girona hospital, for which the Mossos d'Esquadra attributed a crime of homicide to him.
Aggressor and victim were in a local bar last morning when the former had an argument with those responsible for the premises, specifically with its owner.
The victim attempted to mediate and took the suspect outside.
There, on Baix Empordà street, the assailant took out a machete and stuck it in his neck.
Later he went to his house where a few hours later the Mossos arrested him.
The agents recovered the murder weapon as well as the clothes full of blood that the aggressor was wearing.
A witness from the bar notified the Mossos of the attack and an ambulance, since the victim was left in a very serious condition.
Hours later he died in hospital from his injuries.
