On August 1 just before 6 a.m., the police were called to Storgatan in Gnosjö.
A woman had been assaulted by a man in a parking lot.
The perpetrator left the scene on an electric scooter.
The woman, who is in her 30s, was taken to hospital by ambulance.
She was then awake and talkative.
The hospital later stated that her injuries were serious.
Now she has left the hospital.
The assault was done with passion and the crime classification was initially aggravated assault.
Now, however, the classification has been changed to attempted murder.
- It depends on the way the assault was carried out, says Magdalena Liljeqvist, who is the head of preliminary investigations at the police.
The case is covered by confidentiality and Magdalena Liljeqvist cannot therefore give more details about the crime, which weapon was used or what the motive was.
The head of the preliminary investigation also does not want to state whether the victim and perpetrator know each other.
There are currently no suspects.
