He said this in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel, an excerpt from which was published by the official Telegram channel of the Belarusian government.

“We are talking about our own capacities not only for Belarusian products.

This is a commercial project.

We will not ensure the loading of even a small port only with our products,” he said.

Golovchenko added that the creation of its own port facilities will optimize for Belarus the issues of the cost of cargo transshipment services.

“And, of course, this is some element of reliability.

We will know that we will always be able to export cargo through this point, no matter what happens,” the prime minister emphasized.

Earlier, Golovchenko said that the project to create a Belarusian port in the North-Western region of Russia "will start working before the end of the year."
