A British think tank said on the 8th that many parts manufactured by foreign companies such as Europe, the United States and Japan were used in the weapons used by Russia in the military invasion of Ukraine, and Japanese companies had the second largest number of parts by country or region. announced the results of the survey.

On the 8th, the British think tank, the Royal Institute for Defense and Security, released a research report on 27 types of weapons and equipment such as drones and cruise missiles used by Russia in the military invasion of Ukraine.

According to that, more than 450 types of foreign-made parts manufactured in Europe, the United States, Japan, etc. were found in the weapons and equipment.

By country and region, companies based in the United States have the most parts, with 318, followed by Japanese companies with 34, and Taiwanese companies with 30.

Among them, the Russian unmanned reconnaissance aircraft "Orlan 10" was equipped with a video camera manufactured by a major Japanese manufacturer, as well as an engine manufactured by another Japanese manufacturer.

Furthermore, the report points out that Russia obtains many of the foreign-made parts subject to export controls through procurement channels such as Hong Kong companies.

On top of that, the report states, "The Russian military is dependent on the technology of Western countries. Appropriate countermeasures can permanently weaken Russia's military power." It concludes that the cooperation of each country is necessary to prevent it from crossing over to Russia.
