The cucumber is one of the products that has increased the most in price in grocery stores in the past year.
- If there are poorer harvests, you can see it immediately in the pricing.
And the producers have needed electricity in their greenhouses and they need fertilizers to grow, these are some important explanations, says Lars-Erik Lundkvist, economic policy advisor at the Farmers' Confederation, LRF.
- We also see an increased demand for products from the plant kingdom, which also causes prices to rise, he says.

In stores, the price for consumers has been completely stagnant according to Statistics Norway, but the compensation that growers receive for the raw material has increased by 25 percent in the past year, according to the organization Potato Growers.
- The growers have had cost increases at roughly the same level.
But the coming year is terribly uncertain and many will probably review their cultivation and perhaps reduce potatoes and increase the cultivation of something else.
Getting fertilizer is a big uncertainty factor, so next year is a huge question mark.
The big challenge for the growers has not been this year but the next, says the organisation's chairman Roger Nolsa.
