In three days, the fire destroyed 7,400 hectares and forced the evacuation of 10,000 people.

More than 1,000 firefighters in the region are also fighting against this huge blaze.

Since Thursday, they have been joined by firefighters from Germany, Romania and as of Friday, Poland, Austria and Italy.

The Gironde wakes up once again in flames.

In three days, the fire in the Landiras sector ravaged 7,400 hectares.

10,000 people were evacuated.

All night, more than 1,000 firefighters continued tirelessly to fight this huge fire.

They had to deal with several new fire starts that night on the northern front of the fire, on the side of the municipalities of Saint-Magne and Belin-Béliet.

Land and air resources from all over Europe

Some of them have just arrived here at the command post in Hostens, their features drawn, covered in ashes.

The day teams have been preparing for an hour to take over in a very special atmosphere.

The smoke from the fire is still very present this morning on the camp, with this strong smell of burnt pine.

But the good news is that European reinforcements arrived Thursday evening and overnight.

The Germans and the Romanians are already on the front and others will arrive again today.
