China News Service, Tokyo, August 12 (Reporter Zhu Chenxi) Recently, Chinese Ambassador to Japan Kong Xuanyou expounded China's position on the Taiwan issue in his contacts with people from all walks of life in Japan.

Kong Xuanyou emphasized that the U.S. side ignored China's dissuasion and warnings and insisted on letting Pelosi visit Taiwan, China, which seriously violated China's sovereignty and political commitments made by the U.S. side.

The US provoked and provoked troubles first, and China's legitimate countermeasures came later.

In order to safeguard its own sovereignty and territorial integrity, maintain the basic norms of international relations of non-interference in internal affairs, and truly maintain peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait, China has taken necessary and appropriate countermeasures, and the relevant actions are reasonable and legal.

Kong Xuanyou said that after Pelosi visited Taiwan, the United States not only did not want to repent, but also assumed an innocent posture.

Pei himself said that he did not understand why the Chinese side was highly concerned.

Secretary of State Blinken even claimed that the changes in Taiwan's status quo for more than 40 years came from Beijing, not the United States.

This is a complete inversion of black and white.

Peking to Taiwan is a major political provocation to escalate exchanges between the United States and Taiwan, and the United States is well aware of this.

In recent years, the U.S. side has allowed senior officials such as the Speaker of the House of Representatives to visit Taiwan, and has continued to increase the scale and performance of arms sales to Taiwan. It is these treacherous and reckless actions that openly help Taiwan expand the so-called "international space" that has changed the status quo across the Taiwan Strait.

Kong Xuanyou pointed out that "peaceful reunification and one country, two systems" is China's basic policy for resolving the Taiwan issue.

We are willing to create broad space for peaceful reunification, but we will never leave any space for various forms of "Taiwan independence" separatist activities.

If the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces or external intervening forces provoke and coerce, or even break the red line, we will have to take decisive measures.

A few days ago, the Chinese government officially released the white paper titled "The Taiwan Issue and China's Unification in the New Era", which comprehensively expounded the historical perspective and policy proposition of the Taiwan issue.

It is hoped that people from all parties who love peace and adhere to justice will work with China to jointly safeguard the one-China principle, jointly defend the purposes and provisions of the UN Charter, and jointly safeguard regional stability and world peace.

Kong Xuanyou stressed that Japan is not a party to the current tension in the Taiwan Strait.

China's countermeasures are aimed at the US political provocation and "Taiwan independence" forces. The purpose is to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity. It has nothing to do with Japan and does not involve Japan's interests.

Japan has no right to interfere in China's internal affairs, let alone dance with the United States on the Taiwan issue.

East Asia is the place where China and Japan share their lives.

The one-China principle is the political foundation of China-Japan relations and a clear commitment made by the Japanese side.

The Japanese side should stop provoking regional confrontation and escalating tensions, otherwise it will only jump higher and fall harder.

Kong Xuanyou said that what should not be forgotten is that Japan has illegally occupied Taiwan for half a century and bears historical guilt.

The Cairo Declaration and the Potsdam Proclamation, which laid the legal foundation for the post-war international order, clearly stipulated that the Chinese territory stolen by Japan, including Taiwan and the Penghu Islands, should be returned to China.

In the Sino-Japanese Joint Statement, the Japanese government made it clear that it fully understands and respects the Chinese government's position that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory, and insists on abiding by Article 8 of the Potsdam Proclamation.

This has laid the foundation and origin of Sino-Japanese relations.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan. The Japanese side should stay true to its original aspiration, keep its promises, and do more things that are conducive to bilateral relations and regional stability, not the other way around.
