  It is reported that the first "Greater Bay Area International Science and Technology Innovation Summit" was hosted by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Academicians Alliance, and was held in the form of a combination of online and offline.

With the theme of "Integrating into the Bay Area Strategy to Build Hong Kong's International Innovation and Technology Center", the summit focused on the three major topics of "National Science and Technology Development Plan and Policy", "Hong Kong Innovation and Technology: Based on the Present to Create the Future" and "International Technology Frontier Development Trends" to jointly discuss Hong Kong The focus of future technological development.

  Li Jiachao, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, attended the event and said in his speech that the Academician Alliance unites the academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering in the Greater Bay Area, builds a strong platform with national-level scientists, contributes to the development of science and technology innovation and exchanges and cooperation in the Greater Bay Area, and helps the country to achieve High-level scientific and technological self-reliance.

  Li Jiachao mentioned that the "14th Five-Year Plan" clearly supports Hong Kong becoming an international innovation and technology center. The central government attaches great importance to Hong Kong's innovation and technology development. The SAR government must live up to its trust and promote in-depth cooperation between cities in the Greater Bay Area. Development opens up a new chapter.

Li Jiachao also mentioned that he will deliver his first policy address during his tenure in October. At the consultation meeting held earlier, he heard many opinions that the SAR government should seize the opportunity to attract international talents. He agreed with this and said: Ideas and measures will be put forward in a new policy address.

  Tan Tieniu, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, put forward three suggestions in his video speech: First, he hopes that the Academician Alliance will play an exemplary role and lead the Hong Kong I&T community to enhance the sense of mission of revitalizing Hong Kong and serving the country through science and technology; second It is hoped that the Academician Alliance will be willing to reward post-study and inspire more young people to devote themselves to the cause of innovation and technology; third, it is hoped that the Academician Alliance will gather global resources to promote the development of innovation and technology in the Greater Bay Area.

  Ye Yuru, chairman of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Academician Alliance, said that Hong Kong has a good foundation, unique advantages and valuable development opportunities in the development of innovation and technology, and Hong Kong's innovation and technology is now ushering in a golden period of development.
