But the figures recorded last month by the Normandy department in terms of visitors are also higher than those of 2019, the last reference year before the health crisis linked to Covid-19.

Flux Vision tourisme and Calvados attractiveness recorded 3.5 million merchant and non-merchant overnight stays in Calvados between 1 and 24 July.

The upward trend was observed in most areas of the department.

Geographic disparities

Only the southern part recorded a drop in tourist numbers.

The distribution of visitor nationalities has also changed.

It is now German holidaymakers who are the most represented, whereas they were only in fifth position among foreign tourists before the coronavirus.
