In SVT/Novu's recent voter barometer, the Green Party receives 5.2 percent of voter support - and is above the 4 percent parliamentary barrier for the first time since December.

However, the rise is within the margin of error.

The Green Party's spokesperson Märta Stenevi claims that the main reason for the increase is environmental policy and that they are the only party "which is prepared to prioritize the climate issue for real".

SVT's political commentator Mats Knutson believes that the increase is largely about support votes from the Social Democrats and the Left Party.

But he does not rule out that the spring debate on the environment could be an influencing factor.

- With rising fuel prices, both the Social Democrats and the Left Party have chosen to play down parts of climate and environmental policy, and that can create room for a party like the Green Party, he says.
