The analyst questioned the legal basis of the project.

“Ukraine and Moldova received candidate status, while Georgia was denied,” the analyst noted.

He also explained that Eurostat requests data from the national statistical services of different countries and "these services provide information."

“There are often gaps.

For example, Ukraine sins with a distortion of facts.

The data that they will provide to the EU, they will require a deep check of those people who want to rely on them, ”Olenchenko specified.

According to the analyst, the funds allocated for the program will not be justified.

“Statistics will be neither true, nor accurate, nor objective,” the source said. 

Earlier, the statistical service of the European Union (Eurostat) opened a call for applications for data collection in EU candidate countries, including Ukraine and Moldova, as well as in the states that are part of the so-called European Neighborhood Policy.
