It has been confirmed that the Democratic Ethics Tribunal is planning to hold a retrial on the 18th of Rep. Choi Kang-wook, who caused a scandal over allegations of 'sexual harassment'.

Previously, the Democratic Party Ethics Judge held a disciplinary review on June 20 and unanimously sentenced Rep. Choi to a six-month suspension of party membership.

Suspension of party membership is the second highest level of disciplinary action after expulsion under the Democratic Party Constitution.

The Democratic Ethics Tribunal denied that Rep. Choi made inappropriate sexual harassment remarks during an online meeting with the party's judiciary on April 28 in the presence of female assistants, and continued to inflict psychological pain on victims. He said that he had taken into account the given points.

Afterwards, Rep. Choi, dissatisfied with the disciplinary decision, said, "I would like to seek additional vindication and judgment on facts and legal principles through the retrial application process. I will also explain fully that many people are raising questions about whether this is the case.”
