Surprising story, noted by our colleagues from the Telegram.

In the Côtes d'Armor, in Pleubian, volunteer firefighters took to the sea in an emergency to save a family of two adults and two children surrounded by water on an islet 500 meters from the beach.

A fairly classic intervention, successfully carried out by SNSM volunteers who were able to rescue the four people.

More surprising is the explanation of the father, who had ventured with his children in the crossing before the tide caught up with him and forced him to backtrack.

According to the witnesses interviewed by Le Télégramme, the man indicated that he thought that if the sea had withdrawn, it was under the effect of the drought.

He was completely unaware of the tide principle and had the unpleasant surprise of seeing the water rise when he wanted to reach the beach.
