　　The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and the Information Office of the State Council jointly issued a white paper titled "The Taiwan Issue and China's Unification in the New Era" today.

　　In August 1993 and February 2000, the Chinese government released the white papers "The Taiwan Question and China's Reunification" and "The One-China Principle and the Taiwan Question", which comprehensively and systematically expounded the basic principles and relevant policies for solving the Taiwan question.

Over the past 20 years, especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the theory of national unity and the principles and policies for Taiwan have continued to enrich and develop.

General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward a series of important concepts and major policy propositions on the work on Taiwan, formed the overall strategy of the Communist Party of China to solve the Taiwan issue in the new era, and provided the fundamental guidelines and action plan for the work on Taiwan.

However, for a period of time, the Taiwan Democratic Progressive Party authorities have stepped up their separatist activities for "Taiwan independence", and some external forces have tried their best to "use Taiwan to control China" in an attempt to prevent China from achieving complete reunification and the Chinese nation's great rejuvenation.
