Police shoot and kill a man with a knife at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport

A man was shot dead at

airport by police after brandishing a knife, according to police and airport sources.

"Showing composure, the police neutralized this morning a threatening individual in possession of a knife at

e airport," the Paris police headquarters said on its Twitter account.

Agents from the border unit opened fire after warning the man and he tried to jump on the police, according to sources quoted by public television.

The authorities are now working to identify the deceased person, of whom hardly any details have emerged.

According to 'Le Figaro', he did not make any claims of a terrorist nature at the time of the alleged attack.
