This was told to RIA Novosti by a source at the shipyard.

“Based on the results of the use of these boats during a special military operation this year, a proposal was put forward to modernize the project in terms of installing a more effective protection system and improving the combat characteristics of the boat,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

The source noted that the modernization project involves full localization.

“The shipyard, in the context of restrictive measures from foreign states, has carried out work on import substitution of the propulsion complex,” the source of the agency explained.

In June, combat swimmers of the Baltic Fleet conducted anti-sabotage exercises in the Kaliningrad region.

About 30 military personnel of the Baltic Naval Base took part in the exercises, patrol boats of the Raptor type, high-speed boats, as well as special equipment were involved.
