The leaders of the Patriotic Front, a Burkinabè movement bringing together political parties and civil society organizations, denounce the birth of militia to threaten opponents.
These officials accuse a member of the Transitional Legislative Assembly of being at the head of one of the militias which attempted by violence to oppose the birth of the Patriotic Front.
They would have physically attacked Alassane Bala Sakandé, former president of the National Assembly.

The members of this militia would not be at their first crime according to the leaders of the Patriotic Front.
“
The same group would have put an end to a press conference of another movement, which plans a demonstration against French policy in Burkina Faso
”, underlines master Ambroise Farama, the adviser of the front.
The movement questions the responsibility of the military in power
Without attributing the paternity to the military regime in place, the leaders of the Patriotic Front, underline the closeness of certain members of this militia with the Patriotic Movement for Safeguarding and Restoration, the military junta.
“
We cannot say that they were sent by the first officials of the country, but this is not excluded, because there are apparently sufficient links which can exist between them
”, hammers Me Ambroise Farama.
According to Germain Bitiou Nama, the coordinator of the Patriotic Front, the period of the militias is over and no regime will be able to challenge the democratic and civic freedoms acquired in Burkina Faso.
It also challenges the transitional government on its responsibility to guarantee the people respect for individual and collective freedoms.
