4 Al-Shabab militants killed in US strike in Somalia

The US military announced on Wednesday that it carried out a missile attack in central Somalia, killing four members of the extremist Al-Shabaab movement.

The US military command in Africa (AFRICOM) said in a statement that the attack took place on Tuesday near Beledweyne, 350 km north of the capital, Mogadishu, after an attack by Al-Shabab, loyal to Al-Qaeda, on Somali soldiers.

The statement stated that, according to an initial outcome, "the strike resulted in the killing of four Al-Shabaab terrorists, while no civilians were killed or injured."
