- Those for which permission is being sought at the moment are upwards of 300 meters in total height, says Tomas Hallberg.

300 meters, it is as high as the Eiffel Tower in Paris - if you don't count the antennas at the top.

Currently, it is not technically possible to build such tall wind turbines as there is a lack of tall enough cranes, but the industry simply expects to be able to do so in about ten years.

That is how long it takes to implement a wind power project.

- There are long lead times.

It takes eight years to work out permits and the like and two years to build.

Increased electricity production

As the size of the plants increases, the electricity production has also increased.

According to Tomas Hallberg, Swedish Wind Energy, in 2015 it would have been necessary to build three wind turbines to be able to produce as much electricity as a single wind turbine being built this year.

There are no comprehensive statistics on the number of wind turbine accidents, but rotor blade detachment is one of the more common incidents in recent years.

- The industry needs to get a hold of this and monitor it, make sure that you have better control in the factories so that we don't have any material defects.

And you have to be more careful when assembling.

In the video you will hear more about the size of the wind turbines, the electricity production and about the accidents.
