The Kremlin criticizes Zelensky's call for the West to close the border to the Russians

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's call for an international travel ban on all Russians has drawn sharp criticism from Moscow.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov was quoted by the Russian "Interfax" agency as saying that Zelensky's invitation was received "extremely negatively."

He added, "The irrationality of the thinking process has crossed all limits."

Zelensky said in an interview with the American newspaper "Washington Post", published on Monday, that "the most important sanctions are closing the borders ... because the Russians are seizing the lands of others."

Consultations are underway in the European Union to make issuing tourist visas to Russians more difficult, or even to stop them altogether.
